New Delhi, November 22 (IANS) Jasir Bilal Wani, an aide of Delhi blast attacker Dr Omar Muhammad, has filed an application in the NIA court seeking permission to meet his lawyers at the agency headquarters. Sources gave this information on Saturday.

Patiala House NIA Court will hear Wani’s application on Saturday.

NIA has described Jasir Bilal Wani as an active co-conspirator of terrorist Dr. Omar.

He was arrested in Srinagar on 17 November.

On November 18, Patiala House Court had sent Jasir Bilal Wani to NIA custody for 10 days. The NIA produced Wani in the court in connection with the Delhi blasts, in which 13 people lost their lives.

According to the agency, investigation revealed that he had allegedly provided technical assistance to carry out the terrorist attacks. He was reportedly involved in an effort to modify drones and develop rockets before the deadly car bombing.

The accused, a resident of Qazigund in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, was said to be an active co-conspirator in the attack. He had worked closely with terrorist Dr. Omar Muhammad Nabi to plan and execute the terrorist act.

NIA is investigating many aspects to expose the entire conspiracy behind the bomb blast. Multiple teams of the anti-terrorism agency are following various leads and conducting searches across multiple states in an effort to identify each person involved in the attack.

Meanwhile, the police have managed to establish a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) link to the November 10 blast near the iconic Red Fort in Delhi. Police have learned that it was a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist who had instructed the accused persons to make the bomb.

Another big revelation that has come to light is that the accused were preparing to prepare 200 bombs, which were to be detonated simultaneously in Delhi and other parts of North India. The plan was to carry out bomb blasts in North Indian states and for this the ISI had selected a Jaish-e-Mohammed operative who was part of the Faridabad module to train the accused.

Officials have intensified the investigation into the terrorist module.
