New Delhi, Nov 11 (IANS) Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with top officials of the investigating agencies on the Delhi blasts and directed them to quickly nab each and every culprit.

In a message on Twitter, HM Shah shared details of the incident and said, “Chaired review meetings on Delhi car blast with senior officials. Instructed them to find each and every culprit behind this incident. Every person involved in this act will face the full wrath of our agencies.”

In the morning, the Home Minister took information from the security agencies about the investigation and searches being conducted in many states.

During the meeting, HM Shah reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve to bring the culprits to justice.

Chairing a meeting with top security officials at his residence, the Home Minister issued strict instructions to officials to get to the bottom of the conspiracy as soon as possible.

The meeting was attended by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Kumar Deka, Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha and National Investigation Agency (NIA) Director General (DG) Sadanand Vasant Date, while Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat joined virtually.

A team of over 500 security officials has been formed to investigate the blast, while security has been beefed up in Delhi-NCR and NSG commandos deployed at key establishments.

Delhi Police sources said over 1,000 CCTV footage clips are being scanned by the investigating agencies amid suspicion that the car blast could have been a suicide attack aimed at causing maximum damage.

The investigating agencies are also keeping an eye on social media activity and collecting mobile phone dump data from multiple locations across Delhi.

According to police sources, dump data is being extracted from all the mobile phones active in and around the Red Fort area. This data can help identify phone numbers and communication links linked to car bombings.

HM Shah directed the NIA, IB and Delhi Police Special Cell to work together and said, “No stone will be left unturned”.

High alert has been issued in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Mumbai and security has been increased in crowded public places and around religious places.

The blast occurred on Monday evening when a Haryana-registered Hyundai i20 car exploded near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort metro station, killing at least eight people and injuring dozens.

Earlier, while speaking in Bhutan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured action against the perpetrators of the blasts.

He said Indian agencies would get to the bottom of the conspiracy and assured that those behind the blast “will not be spared”.

In his remarks at the Changlimthang ground in Thimphu, PM Modi said, “Today, I have come here with a very heavy heart. The horrific incident that took place in Delhi yesterday evening has deeply saddened everyone. I understand the grief of the affected families. Today the entire nation stands with them. I was in touch with all the agencies investigating this incident throughout the night last night… Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy. The conspirators behind this will not be spared. Those responsible will be brought to justice.” Will be brought to the dock.”

Earlier, the BJP criticized the Congress and its allies for working against the national interest and trying to politicize the terror attack.

“If being shameless and working against the national interest had a face, it would look exactly like the Congress,” Amit Malviya, in-charge of the BJP’s national information and technology department, said on Twitter.

“The problem with our opposition and the far-left ecosystem is that they do not know how to stand with the country in its time of need,” he said.
