Delhi blasts: Five arrested for ‘provocative’ post in Assam

Guwahati, Nov 12 (IANS) At least five people have been arrested in Assam for posting inflammatory posts on social media platforms in connection with the November 10 blast in the national capital. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Wednesday.

They have been identified as Mattiur Rehman, Hasan Ali Mondal, Abdul Latif, Wazahul Kamal and Noor Amin Ahmed.

These people were arrested from different corners of the state.

In a post on social media X, CM Sarma said that in connection with the recent Delhi blasts, Assam Police has arrested some people for spreading objectionable and inflammatory content online.

“Assam Police will continue to take swift and strict action against anyone misusing social media to spread hatred or glorify terror,” he said.

On Tuesday, he said, “When the news of Delhi bomb blast came on social media, some people of a particular community started making fun of it and started putting ‘Ha Ha’ emojis. These people are terrorist supporters and our police is busy catching them at any cost.”

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Delhi’s LNJP Hospital, where he met the survivors of the Red Fort blast and said those behind the conspiracy will be brought to justice. PM Modi social media platform

PM Modi reached the national capital on Wednesday afternoon after concluding his two-day visit to Bhutan. After landing, he went straight to LNJP Hospital, where he met and interacted with the injured and wished them speedy recovery. Doctors and senior officials also informed him about the condition of the patients and the ongoing treatment.

The Prime Minister, in his remarks at the Changlimthang grounds in Thimphu on Tuesday, assured action against the conspirators behind the deadly car blast in Delhi. He said Indian agencies would get to the bottom of the conspiracy and assured that those behind the blast “will not be spared”.
