Defense Ministry signs ₹2,095 crore deal with BDL for INVAR missiles to boost firepower of T-90 tank

The Defense Ministry has signed a contract worth ₹2,095.70 crore with Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) for the procurement of INVAR anti-tank missiles under the Buy (Indian) category.

The agreement was signed on November 13, 2025 in the presence of Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh at South Block, New Delhi.

The INVAR missile is a laser-guided system with high hit probability. Its induction is aimed at strengthening the firepower and overall lethality of the T-90 tanks, which are the backbone of the Indian Army’s armored regiments.

It is expected that this missile will improve the army’s capability in mechanized operations and give a strategic edge against the adversaries.

According to a PIB report, the contract reflects the government’s effort to meet the operational needs of the Army by utilizing the capabilities of defense public sector undertakings and encouraging domestic industries to develop advanced technologies in line with the self-reliance initiative.
