New Delhi, November 15 (IANS) Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will begin a two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency Lucknow on Saturday.
During the visit, he will participate in a series of public meetings, organizational interactions and commemorative events.
According to Lucknow BJP Metropolitan President Anand Dwivedi, the Defense Minister will reach Lucknow Airport at 11:40 am, from there he will go straight to Sadar and participate in the ‘Senior Worker Jan Samvad’ program at Sanskrit Pathshala Auditorium.
Later, at 4:00 pm, he will address another session of the same program at Rajkumar Children’s Academy in Rajajipuram.
Dwivedi said the visit is part of the minister’s regular engagement with party workers and local citizens in his constituency.
After completing his scheduled meetings in Rajajipuram, Rajnath Singh will visit the residence of Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Seth on Vikramaditya Marg to condole the demise of Seth’s mother.
On Sunday, the Defense Minister will participate in an important cultural and historical function. In the afternoon, he will participate in the Martyrdom Day program dedicated to Dalit freedom fighter martyr Uda Devi at Sector 19, Pasi Square, Vrindavan Colony.
During the event, he will also unveil his statue, marking another important step in the government’s efforts to honor the forgotten heroes of India’s freedom struggle.
The Defense Minister’s event in Lucknow comes weeks after a major milestone in India’s defense manufacturing drive.
Earlier, strengthening the vision of self-reliance in defense production, on October 18, 2025, Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath jointly flagged off the first batch of BrahMos missiles manufactured at the BrahMos Integration and Test Facility Center in Lucknow.
The state-of-the-art facility, part of the UP Defense Industrial Corridor, was virtually inaugurated by the Defense Minister on May 11, 2025, and remarkably, within just five months, the first missiles were ready for deployment.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Rajnath Singh said that “BrahMos is not just a missile, but a symbol of the nation’s growing indigenous capabilities. The missile has a conventional warhead and an advanced guided system and has long-range strike capability at supersonic speed. This combination of speed, accuracy and power makes BrahMos one of the best systems in the world. It has become the backbone of our armed forces.”
