Srinagar, May 15, KDC: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is going to come to Srinagar for a short journey today, during which he will hold talks with army personnel and officers.
Sources told Srinagar -based news agency Kashmir.com that Raksha Mati Rajnath Singh is expected to reach Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar around 11:30 am.
This will be Singh’s first visit to the Kashmir Valley, which will be followed by an important resonance conducted by Indian security forces in Pakistan after the recently concluded operation vermilion.
During his visit, the Defense Minister is likely to review the security situation in Kashmir and discuss with senior army officers at 15 Corps headquarters in Srinagar. They are also expected to address soldiers and accept their efforts. Sing will be accompanied by Upendra Dwivedi, the head of the army.
Singh has been slated to return to New Delhi later in the day after completing his busyness in Srinagar. (KDC)
