Officials said on Saturday that the rescue team pulled 10 more bodies from the rubble during the night operation.
The government -run civil hospital said in a statement that it found 16 bodies, out of which many injured were admitted to the hospital.
According to local media and emergency officials, rescue workers are using heavy machinery to search at least eight and remaining people, believed to be trapped under the debris.
The residents stated that the building was located on a narrow road, obstructing efforts to bring additional heavy equipment. Television footage showed the rescue team removing the rubble that those who are still trapped prayed for their loved ones to protect their loved ones.
Building toals are common in Pakistan, where construction standards are often implemented poorly. Many structures are made with substandard materials, and safety rules are often ignored to cut costs.
In June 2020, an apartment building collapsed in Karachi, the capital of the southern Sindh province, killing 22 people.
