Dean Lewis has issued an apology in response to viral allegations that he had inappropriate interactions with fans.

Lewis wrote, “I understand why people are angry and disappointed after learning the embarrassing details of intimate, private conversations and relationships I have had with consenting adults over the past decade, but I want to emphasize that none of this is illegal.” Instagram,
“The individuals leading the campaign against me have repeatedly acknowledged this, and I am hurt by any suggestion that I have done things that were unlawful. At the same time, I realize I have made an incredible mess, people are really hurt, and I need to make changes.”
Singer-songwriter best known for his songs “Waves” and “Be Alright.” He has over 17 million monthly listeners on Spotify and recently collaborated with the Jonas Brothers for a song featured on their latest album.
Over the past few weeks, women who claim to have interacted with Lewis over the past decade have shared stories about his “creepy” behavior, primarily in videos. tiktokScreenshots and recordings show him flirting, sexting and arranging to meet female fans.
Lewis admitted, “I’ve been flirty with adult women of all different ages, in person, online, and via text. Sometimes, flirting leads to consensual intimate encounters or relationships that I thought were private. And like anyone who has ever dated, been in a relationship, or just sent silly flirty texts (and yes, sometimes sexts), I’ve been incredibly stupid, “Said insensitive and embarrassing things and looking back, I feel embarrassed.”
He continued, “Over the past few days, social media has made public more than a decade’s worth of private conversations with multiple women, all of adult age. I do not blame these individuals for having hard feelings, and I do not want anyone to defend me.
“I was surprisingly foolish texting and flirting as I have been for many years. I should have been more sensitive that everyone did not view our interactions the way I often did. From the bottom of my heart, I want to sincerely apologize to those I have hurt.”

Lewis vowed that moving forward, he plans to enroll in “intensive therapy” and push new boundaries to connect with his fans. The artist plans to embark on a world tour from January 5.
Lewis said, “I know asking for grace and forgiveness is too much at this time, but I hope that over time I will be able to regain the trust of those I have hurt and do better than those I have disappointed.” “I’ll take care of myself until I get my head and life in order.”
