Long Beach Fire Department crews were called to the scene Tuesday afternoon, where they worked to extricate the pilot from the plane.
“When units arrived, they found a small aircraft with its landing gear broken,” the fire department confirmed in a statement. “The airframe was intact. When the aircraft landed, it struck a pedestrian in the park. Units assisted in removing the pilot, an elderly male, from the airplane and transported him via paramedics to a local area hospital.”
