Srinagar, May 20: A meeting of the district level committee at the Narco Coordination Center (NCORD) on Tuesday, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-din was held under the chairmanship of Bhat, which was held in the hall of DC Office Complex to review and strengthen the ongoing measures for proper rehabilitation of drugs in the district.
Major issues including drug pedals, acute awareness campaigns and strict enforcement action against increased treatment and rehabilitation facilities were considered for the people affected by drug abuse.
Initially, DC evaluated the first hand from officials of all line departments and other stakeholders to progress about the progress obtained in the ongoing battle against drug menus to tighten the nose against drug pedals.
Dr. Bilal emphasized to intensify continuous IEC campaigns across the district, especially to make the youth sensitive to the harmful and harmful effects of drug abuse. He also emphasized on strengthening of addiction treatment facilities (ATFs) in SMHS, Skims Bemina and Imhans and provided proper rehabilitation of better treatment facilities and drug victims.
During the meeting, DC assessed the performance of private drug de-addiction centers and emphasized their effective functioning as per the prescribed guidelines. He sought a detailed report on the performance of these centers.
He also called for the initial operation of the Drug Day-Edequence and Rehabilitation Center in Sanath Nagar.
The DC also underlined the need to have proper vigilance on private coaching centers and courier service agencies and asked all divisional magistrates to inspect the surprise of such institutions and establishments. He further asked him to conduct the audit of private coaching centers and the appropriate regulation of courier service agencies in the district.
Dr. Bilal emphasized the importance of a holistic approach, including prevention as well as strict enforcement measures in the form of strict enforcement measures at the same time, back to the society.
