In November, the 58-year-old broadcaster announced she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and urged others to “regularly check themselves” after having a “very, very small” lump removed.
On Friday’s (Dec. 12) show, McCall spoke passionately about the importance of cancer screenings and early diagnosis, recalling how her sister Caroline died seven weeks after receiving a diagnosis of late-stage lung cancer.
“I held her hand. And that’s why early diagnosis really meant something to me,” McCall said.
