During his final episode on the show, Fishel and Pashkov performed an emotional contemporary routine to “Dream On” by Aerosmith which was partly inspired by Fishel’s diagnosis of breast cancer.
After the performance, Fishel told the DWTS co-host Julianne Hough It was “a difficult week. Pasha put up a lot of resistance, and I eventually apologized to him, because I felt bad.”
“But this dance was bringing up a lot of things for me. It was like therapy,” she said.
Fishel announced his Breast Cancer Diagnosis on her podcast last August Pod Meets WorldHe said the cancer was so early, “It’s technically stage zero.”
“The only reason I was diagnosed with this cancer when it was still at stage zero was because the day I got my text message that my annual mammogram had come, I made an appointment.”

She explained on the show that the choice of song meant a lot to her because “This song really inspires me to live my dreams, because as my cancer diagnosis last year showed me, you never know when your time might be up.”
Before the performance, Carp shared that it was the couple’s seventh wedding anniversary. “I’m so glad the world gets to see her determination, happiness and unwavering support for her friends on their TVs every week,” the proud husband wrote.
The actor received a total of 34 points and captained the winning team during the group dance competition, but it was not enough to save him from being voted off.
