Holonged President Daniel Noboa claimed a fugitive victory in the Ecuador presidential election on Sunday, when voters supported the young leader’s “Iron Fist” approach to the fierce cartel violence.
With the counting of more than 90 percent of the votes, the National Council of Election Council said that Noboa had a 12 -point lead over its leftist rival Luisa Gonzalez.
Official results showed Nobo with 56 percent of the votes against 44 percent of Gonzalez – a much larger win -win -win -up of a winner than expected after virtual tie in the first round.
Speaking to Jubilant supporters in his hometown Olon, the 37 -year -old President claimed a “historic victory”.
“A big throat for all the ecquadories who always believed in this young President!” He said. “Ecuadorian has spoken, we will go to work from tomorrow morning.”
Gonzalez – appears to have questioned her weak performance and perhaps the end of Ecuador’s dream of becoming the first female president of Ecuador.
He accused Noboa of “The Most Grotek Election Fraud” and called for a thing of ballot papers.
“I refuse to believe that people lie on the truth,” he said.
He did not immediately provide evidence for the claims of fraud.
The campaign was dominated by the economy of the lack of an economy and the cartel violence, which has turned Ecuador into the deadliest from one of the safest countries in Latin America.
Noboa, a magnet’s guitar-shocking son of a billionaire banana, has stopped his political luck on strict security policies designed to sniff the gangs.
They have deployed the army on the streets, captured drug capos and invited the United States to send special forces.
On the eve of the ballot, Noboa announced the 60-day state emergency in the capital Quito and several provinces, underlining the stressful situation.
Once the indiscriminate nation killed every hour at the beginning of the year, as Cartel prepared to control the cocaine routes that passed through the ports of Ecuador.
Rampant Bloodshed has provoked investors and tourists equally, promoting economic illness and the rank of the poor of Ecuador has swollen 28 percent of the population.
In the volcanic-ringed capital, voters wrapped against Andean Chill and reached polling stations.
Camila Medina, a 21 -year -old architecture student, said, “I think the ecuador is divided, but I think we all understand that we are in a situation where we have to unite, who is leading the government.”
Overall, about 13.7 million Ecuador was forced to vote.
Noboa’s victory is likely to watch him doubled on hardline security policies and nurture a budding bromance with US President Donald Trump.
26 -year -old Noboa supporter Natalie Uloa said, “The next four years, I hope everything will be alright.” “I hope that he manages to implement whatever he has been proposing from the beginning.”
Analysts said that Rafael Korea, former President of Gonzalez’s populist Firebrand, would have hurt him in elections.
Correa now lives in exile in Belgium, to avoid a corruption he claims that he claims that he is politically motivated. But he remains a deep polarized person in his motherland.
Ruth Hidalgo, a political scientist at the University of America, said, “Some voters have a strong-shell-core spirit.”
Gonzalez and his party “did not manage to overcome it, they did not manage to convince people, they did not connect, so this is the result.”
