Cyclone Shekhati: The storm is likely to weaken into a depression on 7 October

The cyclone has rained heavily in many parts of the country in the last few days. The Meteorological Office has issued a warning for a cyclone Many parts of Maharashtra, Strong winds are expected till 7 October, including Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg.

According to officials, the coastal areas of Gujarat may receive severe rains in the direction of storm. On Saturday, Abhimanu Chauhan of IMD Ahmedabad said that cyclone power will move towards East-North-East on the morning of 6 October.

“However, nervousness is not required as the effect on Gujarat will be minimized. On October 8, there will be heavy rains in parts of Gujarat – Dwarka, Jamnagar, Pordar, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli,” said Chauhan.
