CRPF personnel arrested by NIA, ‘Sensitive information with Pakistani intelligence’ was rejected from service to share ‘

Officials said in a statement that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a Central Reserve Police Force personnel for sharing sensitive information with Pakistani intelligence officials.

The arrested accused has been identified as Moti Ram Jat.

“The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a CRPF personnel for sharing sensitive information with Pak-Buddhist officials. The accused, Moti Ram Jat, actively involved in detective activity and shared classified information related to national security with Pakistan intelligence officials (PIOS) since 2023,” NIA said.

The CRFP stated that during the continuous monitoring of social media activity of CRPF personnel organized in coordination with central agencies, a case of violation of established criteria and protocols was detected to include a personnel in the rank of ASI/GD.

On initial assessment, the case was considered serious and sent to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for further investigation.

The CRPF said in a statement, “Concurrent, the said person has been dismissed from service since May 21, 2025, reading with CRPF rules under the relevant provisions of the Constitution of India.”

According to an NIA release, CRPF personnel, known as a fat Ram Jat, were actively involved in espionage activity and have been sharing classified information related to national security with Pakistan Intelligence Officers (PIOs) since 2023.

The agency has further found that JAT was receiving money from PIOS through various condits.

JAT was handed over by the NIA in Delhi and was detained by the Special Court in Patiala House Court till June 6 for questioning on the matter. (AI)
