President Draupadi Murmu honored 20 children from 18 states with the 2025 Prime Minister’s National Child Awards in recognition of achievements in the fields of bravery, sports, innovation, social service and others.

Youth Achievements: 20 children from 18 states and union territories received the Prime Minister’s National Child Awards 2025 in New Delhi. They were honored for achievements in bravery, social service, environment, sports, arts and culture and science and technology. The President said the awardees have demonstrated commitment, skill and responsibility, and expressed confidence that their work will inspire more children to achieve socially meaningful goals in various fields. Acts of Bravery: Many award winners were recognized for courage in life-threatening situations. Ajay Raj saved his father from a crocodile attack, while Mohammed Sidan P saved others through quick thinking. Vyoma Priya and Kamlesh Kumar were honored posthumously for sacrificing their lives while saving others. Ten-year-old Shravan Singh assisted soldiers during Operation Sindoor by delivering essential supplies near the border despite the risks associated with conflict situations. (PTI photo)

Game Advancements: Among the sports award winners, swimmer Dhinidhi Desinghu became the youngest Indian athlete at the Paris 2024 Olympics and created several national records. Footballer Anushka Kumari scored 10 goals, including a rapid hat-trick, at the SAFF U17 Women’s Championship. Chess player Vaka Lakshmi Pragnikka won the World School Under-7 title with the best score, becoming the only Indian gold medalist across all age groups. (PTI photo)

Strength and Stamina: Para-athlete Shivani Hosuru Uppara excelled in shot put and javelin throw at the global competitions, while Jyoti won medals in discus, shot put and javelin throw. Judoka Yogita Mandavi earned national respect despite personal difficulties. Mountaineer Vishwanath Karthikeya Padakanti completed the Seven Summit Challenge.
