Srinagar, August 21: The Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police today organized a human level conference in the Union Home Ministry and Art Culture Academy and Tagore Hall Srinagar in collaboration with Academy of Art Culture and languages.
Senior police officers, government representatives, experts, NGOs, legal experts and stakeholders attended the conference to discuss strategies, challenges and collaborative measures to deal with human trafficking.
Special DG coordination PhQ, SJM Gillani, who were chief guests on the occasion, lived on the legal structure, network, prosecution and other important areas related to smuggling. He said that human trafficking distinguishes with other forms of exploitation as traffic often uses the same smuggling network for drugs and weapons.
“Smuggling in individual individuals affects the shattering of human costs, long-lasting trauma on broken families and victims.” He insisted that the fight against this crime requires not only enforcement, but also sympathy and rehabilitation. However, he said that the rate of sentence is low, a trend that reflects the global challenges inherent in weak enforcement, procedural delay and corruption.
Gilni insisted that the prevention should be at the center of anti -trafficking strategies, especially in boundary and conflict areas. “Educated, economically secured and less vulnerable to exploitation,” he said.
Highlighting the role of technology, he said that advanced monitoring and data-operated intervention can strengthen the smuggling response. “We all know, laws alone are not enough. This is their sense of implementation, the sympathy of our promoters and awareness about our citizens that will actually change the tidal,” they insisted.
He urged that the challenge should be contacted not only with the rigor of the authorities but also with human compassion. “Together, through a composite focus on coordinated enforcement, community partnership and human safety, we can create a permanent difference,” he said.
He appreciated the crime branch of J&K Police, Home Ministry, various NGOs and all other stakeholders, who made the program possible.
He said, “His commitment aligns with the widespread initiative of the Government of India, such as the Bill in smuggling (prevention, protection and rehabilitation) bills, strengthening the anti-human trafficking units (AHTUS) in programs such as states and operations,” he said.
Additional Director General of Police and Director, Fire and Emergency Services, Alok Kumar said in his address that human trafficking has been closely linked to the worldwide black money incident. He noticed that despite strong laws and international conferences, crime continues to grow.
Emphasizing that smuggling should be a continuous process, emphasizing the importance of taking advantage of social media, which as a tool for awareness, as a tool to make people sensitive about the use of local communities and use strategies of strategies. He also highlighted the need for detention through exemplary punishment to discourage criminals.
Convenor, only rights for children, Ravi Kant said in his speech that trafficers often take advantage of intervals in the enforcement chain. He said that when the Government of India is strengthening the legal structure, it makes it difficult to arrest and sue the scale and networks involved.
Ravi Kant called for a comprehensive approach that not only tightens laws, but also ensures effective enforcement, strong victim protection measures and cooperation between police, civil society and international agencies.
He said that anti-human smuggling units and law enforcement agencies already have the powers and relevant laws required to function effectively. “If we look below the surface, we see that the smuggling is highly organized – but also a fight against it,” he said, appreciating the work being done by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in dealing with this serious crime.
Resource person Rajesh Mani, a famous expert trainer (human trafficking) shared his expertise on prevention, afflicted support and coordinated response mechanisms.
During his presentation, he stated that human trafficking is a heinous and organized crime and highlighted the best practices, challenges, and the best practices of a multi-agency approach in effectively addressing human trafficking.
Earlier, IGP Crime Sujit Kumar said in his welcome address that we have to come together in this great mission to fight human trafficking and urged the youth to benefit from the knowledge and awareness shared during the conference.
