Credit of modern policing for crime drop: Rajasthan CM

Jaipur, September 29 (IANS) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Monday reiterated that the state government has been the top priorities of the state government by establishing the rule of the law and rifting the criminals.

He said that true development is possible only in a peaceful and safe environment, and the government has introduced revolutionary measures to modernize and strengthen the police force, ensuring a fear-free society for the citizens.

Speaking at the inauguration of three new police stations including Narayan Vihar, the Chief Minister said that these inaugurations are not only about new buildings, but represent strong steps towards making Rajasthan safe.

He said that soon after coming to power, the government formed an Anti-Gangter task force and a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate paper leak cases.

The Chief Minister expanded a series of reforms, including construction of two new offices, police, 22 new police stations, police stations upgrade in police stations and approval of 35 new posts for each Additional Superintendent of Police and Superintendent of Police.

He said that 255 posts have been approved for the Anti-Gangter Task Force under the ADG Crime Branch, with the task force of an anti-verse.

The Jaipur headquarters has also been strengthened with a new police station and nine outposts. Sharma said that 65 anti-romio squads are now active in schools, colleges, markets and public places to curb harassment.

Three women’s battalions – Padmini, Kali Bai and Amrita Devi – have been raised with 2,216 sanctioned posts.

Additionally, 500 Kalika Patrol Units have been deployed for the safety of women and girls. Women’s helpline 1090 and Rajkop app are ensuring quick redressal of complaints.

Police have digitized criminal records at all police stations, while the details of arrested and missing persons are now available on the Rajasthan Police Web Portal.

To improve the response time, 25 interceptor vehicles, 750 motorcycles and 500 mobile unit vehicles have been provided. Forensic Science Laboratories (FSL) has been strengthened with 123 new positions, which ensures timely investigation.

The honorarium of home guard volunteers has been increased by 10 percent for two consecutive years, while 2,000 new constable posts have been approved for manpower.

The Chief Minister said that crime in Rajasthan has seen a steady decline due to continuous efforts. Overall, the crime fell from 2023 to 2025 to 19.45 percent and between 2024 and 2025 to 13.90 percent.

Cases of atrocities against Scheduled Castes have declined by 17.80 percent, 18.77 percent against Scheduled Tribes, and atrocities against women fell to 9.24 percent.

Earlier, Sharma inaugurated Narayan Vihar, Journalist Colony and Khora Bisal Police Stations and later interacted with security personnel. Minister of State Panchayati Raj (Independent Charge) Jhabar Singh Kharra, DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma, senior officer, CLG members, security personnel and local residents participated in the program.
