A group of former Karnataka BJP legislators, led by Congress MP Renukacharya, on Friday urged the party high command to expel senior legislator Basana who openly criticized state president BY Vijayendra Basanagouda Patil Yatnal. Renukacharya and some like-minded party leaders on the issue said they plan to hold a massive rally in Davangere in the coming days in what is expected to be a show of strength.
The organization led by Renukacharya includes Vijayendra supporters such as K Subramanya Naidu, Hartal Halappa, Rupali Naik, Basavaraj Dadesugur and others. The Renukacharya-led group plans to visit various parts of the state, including temples.
Vijayendra’s criticism
Sources said the purpose of the pilgrimage was to confront Atnar and his faction. During this period, party workers will unite in support of Vijayendra and his father BS Yediyurappa. A group of party leaders, led by senior MP Yatnal, have been criticizing the state leadership, especially Vijayendra. These include MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi, BP Harish and former MLAs Arvind Limbavali, Kumar Bangarappa and GM Siddheshwar among others.
Collusion with the ruling Congress party
They have distanced themselves from the recent protests organized by the party on the issue of waqf and are running a parallel campaign in this regard. Yathnal and Jarkiholi have been openly critical of Vijayendra. He accused Vijayendra of indulging in the politics of rapprochement with the ruling Congress party.
try to control
He also alleged that Vijayendra and his father Yeddyurappa were trying to bring the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under their control. Renukacharya said Yatnar was an agent of the Congress. He said there were many differences between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. Although he did not speak about it externally, he (Yatnal) got involved in unnecessary confrontation.
Questions about President Nadda’s decision
He said party leaders and workers were frustrated by such trivial talk and they should stop it. He (BJP) claimed to have support from state-level leaders but did not reveal who they were. The former MP also accused Yatnar of questioning the decisions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president JP Nadda and making remarks against Yeddyurappa and the party leadership.
