Court told

Web Desk, 11/08/2025

A person who found his former-partner dead on his couch, left him for years, a court listened.

The 51 -year -old Jamie Stevens covered the body of Anuska sites on finding his dead body in January 2023 and continued to live in a flat in torque, Devon.

The body of MS sites remained in the lounge of the property before discovering his remains in May 2025.

The Stevens of Reddenhill Road, Torquay, had earlier convicted for allegations of stopping a valid burial and stopping the syllabus of justice and was imprisoned for 14 months on Monday.

The Exeter Crown Court heard that the final known scene of MS sites was in May 2022, and its remains were not discovered until May 2025.

Holi Gilberry, the prosecution said that the court had reported the disappearance to the police in April 2023.

“The inquiry confirmed that she was last seen by the police in May,” she said.

“Unfortunately, due to his weaknesses, including mental health problems and addictions, she was in a lot of regular contact with the police.”

Ms. Gilberry said that in April this year, Stevens was contacted as a former partner of MS sites, interrogating her hideout.

“He told the police that he had no contact with MS sites from February or March 2022,” he said.

On 27 May, the police spoke again with Stevens and told them that he was no longer living in the flat in Apon Road, so the authorities scored and scored.

Ms. Gilberry said, “The officials who participated, describe the flat like a reference, scattered with a handy with rubbing, stool and bottled urine.”

“The police started searching for the flat, and they discovered the arm and hand of a skeleton when they lifted a blanket in the living area.

“Officials notices that there were various aromatic items scattered around the lounge, stating that they must have been to mask any odor.”

Jamie Stevens was jailed for 14 months in the Exeter Crown Court

Jamie Stevens was jailed for 14 months in the Exeter Crown Court ,Devon and Cornwal Police/PA Wire,

Stevens, who were in connection with the MS sites between 2011 and 2014, were arrested and told the police that it was his body.

The prosecutor said, “She explained that she came to her flat around January 2023, asking if she could stay at night.”

“He went to his bed and slept in the living room.

“The next day he went out, returning around 11.30 am, assuming that MS would have left the sites, but instead he found it on the couch.

“He explained that he threw a blanket on his body and continued to stay in his bedroom and never really returned to the lounge.”

The second charge related to Stevens is lying to the police in a witness statement about his knowledge of the hideout of MS sites.

Paul Dentith, Defending, described Stevens’ functions as “passive failure” to not report the death of MS sites.

“Until he signs the statement saying that he has not seen MS sites for many years,” he said.

“It is a syllabus of justice, which takes it more than only passive non-reporting.

“Probably clear, but when one fails to make some serious reports in the first day, it becomes self-established.

“Fear of reporting it … a week or later.”

Mr. Dentith said that Stevens had told him: “Ms. sites were a cute person, my companion, my friend, and I was destroyed when she died, and I miss her a lot. She was better.”

Putting Stevens in jail for 14 months, Judge Anna Richardson said: “This is a very sad matter.

“You were in a relationship with anouska sites. MS sites had many difficulties, including misuse of substance.

“It seems that the Miss sites disappeared between 2022 and April 2023 between some time. She was not reported to be missing till April this year.

“There is no reason based on the post -mortem that the missed sites in your address are found dead.

“It seems that you are completely nervous and just covered his body. You left him there for years.”
