Counter Intelligence Searchs at eight places in Kashmir Valley

Srinagar: On Saturday, the counter-intelligence of Jammu and Kashmir CID Kashmir (CIK) wing discovered at eight places in seven districts of the valley regarding the ongoing insurgency.

Officials said that these raids were conducted simultaneously in Srinagar, Baramullah, Anantnag, Kupwara, Handwara, Pulwama and Shopian districts.

“The investigation was discovered after the CIK received a search warrant from a competent court in following a militant case under investigation,” officials said.

The case is related to the suspected nexus of some persons with terrorist network working in Kashmir.

Sources said, “The purpose of the discoveries was to collect digital and physical evidence that could help to take the investigation forward.”

During the operation, several documents and electronic devices were seized for forensic analysis. There has been no arrest during these discoveries so far.

During these discoveries, CIK teams were assisted by local police and CRPF.

Joint forces are offering aggressive operations against terrorists, their over ground workers (OGWS) and sympathizers in Jammu and Kashmir.

Drug smugglers and pedals are also on the radar of joint forces, as it is believed by intelligence agencies that drug smuggling and money generated by the hawala money racket are eventually used to maintain terrorists in the center area.

The goal of terrorists, their OGWS and sympathizers, together with drug smugglers, is part of the amended strategy of joint forces to destroy the entire ecosystem of terror in Jammu and Kashmir.

In the majority of drug smuggling and hawala money operations, intelligence agencies have been able to detect the roots across the Line of Control (LOC) and the International Border (IB).
