Patna, Oct 31 (IANS) Soon after the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) released its joint manifesto, “Sankalp Patra”, for the Bihar Assembly elections, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on the ruling alliance, calling it a manifesto of “lies” and a “copy-paste” version of his own ‘Tejashwi Pratigya’.
Accusing the NDA of lacking honesty towards the people of Bihar, Tejashwi remarked that the release of the manifesto in just 26 seconds shows the alliance’s casual and careless attitude towards the state.
“For the first time in history, an alliance released its manifesto in just 26 seconds – this shows how little they care about the 14 crore people of Bihar,” he said.
He further alleged that more than half of the promises in the NDA manifesto were directly copied from his own commitments.
Tejashwi said, “He has no vision of his own. He took my promises, repackaged them and presented them as his promises. But the people of Bihar can understand this deception.”
Continuing his sharp criticism, the RJD leader said that the NDA should have issued an apology letter instead of a manifesto.
“For 20 years, they have ruled Bihar through lies, deception and false assurances. This manifesto is not a document of development; it is a report card of their failures,” he said.
Taking a dig at the NDA to highlight its unfulfilled promises, Tejashwi said, “Every year, they bring a new manifesto, and their old promises cry foul. This shows how they betray their own commitments year after year.”
He also criticized the NDA’s promises on education and nutrition, saying these highlight the government’s past failures.
“They are now promising to give nutritious food to children in the mid-day meal – does it mean that they have not given nutritious food for the last 20 years?” he asked.
Describing the NDA document as a “Junior KG-level manifesto” after 20 years of exploitation, Tejashwi said that even after two decades of continuous rule, basic issues like education, employment and healthcare remain unresolved.
“They’re talking about turning around the schools now – but wasn’t that always their job? What were they doing all these years?” He asked question.
Tejashwi concluded by saying that the youth and poor of Bihar have lost faith in the repeated promises of the NDA and are now looking for real change.
“The people of Bihar don’t want more manifestos, they want accountability,” he said.
