“Copacabana” singer Barry Manilow has revealed that he has lung cancer And is ready to undergo surgery.
The 82-year-old shared his diagnosis in a statement InstagramAs he said it was “found quickly”.
“As many of you know I recently suffered from bronchitis for six weeks, which then recurred for another five weeks,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Even though I had recovered from bronchitis and was back on stage at the Westgate Las Vegas, my amazing doctor ordered an MRI to make sure everything was OK.
“The MRI revealed a cancerous spot on my left lung that needed to be removed. It was pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was discovered so quickly. That’s good news.”

However, the singer said that he will undergo surgery to remove the scar.
He said: “The doctors don’t believe it has spread and I’m having tests to confirm their diagnosis. So, that’s it. No chemo. No radiation. Just chicken soup and I love Lucy “Play again.”
Revealing their rescheduled tour dates, they said: “The only follow-up is a month to recover and that means we have to reschedule the January arena concerts. The new schedule is listed below.
“I’m so sorry you had to change your plans.
“Just like you, we were all looking forward to the January show and hated having to move everything around.”
He said he is “counting the days” until he returns to Las Vegas for a Valentine’s weekend concert.
He added: “Something tells me that February weekend is going to be a big party!”
He ended his five-page statement by saying: “I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year. And remember, if you have even the slightest symptom… get tested!”
“I’ll meet you at Westgate Las Vegas for Valentine’s!”
