Conor Barron believes a revitalized Rangers have begun to shake off early-season disappointment heading into a Premier Sports Cup semi-final clash. celtic On Sunday.

Gers have spent most of the campaign surrounded by acrimony after a disastrous start under previous boss Russell Martin.

But enthusiasm for Ibrox has increased over the past few days following new manager Danny Rohl’s continued reign as chairman. William Hill premiership wins against Kilmarnock And irish,

Asked if the team is now in a better position heading into Sunday’s Hampden clash with their city rivals, Barron said: “Yeah, definitely.

“There is a good feeling in the dressing room so we have to continue that.

“Obviously we are massively confident, we have had consecutive wins so we need to get going again.

“We’re not too carried away with ourselves, we know what we need to do.”

Barron has been impressed with the way Rohl has helped get Rangers back on track after their first match in charge following last Thursday’s 3-0 defeat to Bayern in the Europa League.

“He has managed really well,” the midfielder said. “After the games at the weekend we just wanted to come into the Hibs game, get another three points and build a bit of momentum.

“We have done that so it is a happy camp and we are all excited to move into the weekend.

“There has been real excitement in the dressing room and the win also helps.

“It’s positive there and it’s important that we keep the momentum week to week and pick up as many points as we can.

“Winning helps everything so we just have to keep moving forward and keep that momentum going.”

Rangers’ victory over Hibs at Easter Road on Wednesday was earned with a brilliant fifth-minute strike from Danilo and then a late penalty save by Jack Butland to stop Jamie McGrath after Barron had fouled Junior Hoilett.

“Jack always comes up with the big moments,” Barron said. “We needed him and he stepped up. He’s done a lot and I’m grateful for that. “Things happen in the game, obviously I was disappointed (by giving the penalty) but you have to change your mindset very quickly.“You just have to hope that Jack will step up and he did.“It was a really good team performance, we showed both sides of the game.“I felt we attacked well and we also had a really bad side, which was good to see because it’s not always going to be good in the league.“It’s nice to be back with a good feeling.”
