Indore: In a tragic incident, a senior Congress worker died of suffocation after a fire broke out at his residence in Indore, Madhya Pradesh on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Pravesh Agarwal, who was the national chief of the Narmada Sena of the Congress party. Initially the fire broke out in a car showroom on the ground floor of the house.
According to preliminary information, the tragic fire accident occurred at his residence located above Mahindra Showroom in Scheme No. 78. According to the police, the incident occurred between 4 and 5 am.
Pravesh Agarwal lived with his family on the top of the building, while the Mahindra car showroom was located on the ground floor.
After his house caught fire, Aggarwal showed courage by saving his wife and daughter, but unfortunately, he suffered severe suffocation from the smoke and died.
Pravesh’s elder daughter Soumya Aggarwal was also seriously injured and is currently undergoing treatment in a city hospital.
The exact cause of the fire is still unclear, and authorities have launched a detailed investigation to determine how the tragic incident occurred.
This shocking incident has sent a wave of condolence across political and social circles across Madhya Pradesh, with many people deeply saddened by the demise of the young leader.
Expressing grief, Congress senior and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that Pravesh Agarwal was a dedicated Congress worker.
Kamal Nath wrote on Twitter, “I am deeply saddened to hear the demise of Congress leader Pravesh Aggarwal and the news of his wife and daughter being seriously injured in a fire incident at his residence in Indore.”
The former Chief Minister further said that Pravesh Aggarwal was a true soldier of the Congress. Kamal Nath said, “May his soul rest in peace. I pray for the speedy recovery of his other family members.”
State spokesperson of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee and media head of Dewas district Amit Chaurasia has expressed heartfelt condolences to the family.
