Patna, September 22 (IANS) Congress Working Committee (CWC) will hold its first meeting at Sadakat Ashram in Patna on Wednesday.
The meeting will be attended by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, and all 170 members of the committee, marking an important political program before the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.
During a joint press conference at Bihar Congress headquarters, state party president Rajesh Ram and party in -charge Krishna Alvaru and Shakeel Ahmed Khan described the upcoming session as a historic meeting for both the party and the state.
Highlighting the importance of the site, Rajesh Ram recalled that in 1921, Freedom Fighter Maulana Majrul Haq donated 21 acres of land for the establishment of Sadttak Ashram, which became a major center of India’s freedom movement.
It was here that Mahatma Gandhi, Rajendra Prasad, and Jawaharlal Nehru made a strategy for the freedom struggle, served as an important initial point with Champaran Satyagraha.
Congress Vidhan Party (CLP) leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan used the opportunity to start a fast attack on the NDA government, accused of robbing Bihar for 20 years and for the last 11 years.
“The time has come that the time has come for Bihar and the nation to avoid loot. The meeting at Sadakat Ashram will send a strong message against the harassment of common citizens, women and youth. More than two crore people have been forced to flee, and the Congress is fighting against these injustice,” Khan said.
The Congress is expected to pass several major proposals in the meeting, which is seen as an attempt to raise support before the Bihar assembly elections and to intensify the Congress attack on both the state and the central governments.
Krishna Alvaru, in -charge of Bihar Pradesh Congress, said that the upcoming CWC meeting in Patna will not only focus on Bihar, but will also discuss major national concerns, including inflation, unemployment, atrocities against women, and described as a government, which tells US President Donald Trump.
Inaugurating a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Alvaru said, “PM Narendra Modi is like a student who does not believe in studying to improve his marks. He cheats and steals to pass the exam. Narendra Modi and Amit Shah win the election by stealing elections.”
He alleged that the crime in Bihar is increasing due to negligence by the police and the state administration, while the paper leak continues uncontrolled.
“When students raise their demands, they are luxurious. BJP and NDA get this courage with vote theft,” he said, claiming that the Congress has highlighted such practices across the country.
Exposing the party’s outreach efforts, Alvaru pointed to Congress campaigns such as “Stop Migration, Jobs Yatra” and “Voter Adhikar Yatra”, which he said, people have assured people to successfully oppose the theft.
On seat-sharing talks within the India Block Alliance, he said that the discussion is moving smoothly and positively.
He said, “We will sit together and solve the issue of seat-sharing effectively. Everything including the Chief Minister’s face will be decided when the time comes.”
