Congress raises questions over Election Commission functioning, announces massive agitation

Congressional leaders provide information about Congressional CWC meetings

The Congress Working Committee raised many serious issues and accused the Election Commission of biased attitude. Taking into account the growing frustrations and deep concerns of all sectors of society, the Assembly Working Committee decided to raise these public concerns in the form of a national campaign.

Venugopal, while introducing the resolution passed by the Congress Working Committee, said the integrity of the entire electoral process is being seriously compromised. Free and fair elections are a constitutional obligation, but the biased operation of the Electoral Commission puts it into serious doubt. Many segments of society became disillusioned and deeply worried. Congress will raise these public concerns as a national movement.

The meeting raised many questions

Many issues were raised at the conference working committee meeting. It began by referring to recent revelations of corruption committed by a business group close to the prime minister. Thereafter, all issues were discussed, the second being the ongoing violence in Manipur and the third being the BJP’s plans to escalate communal tensions in states including Uttar Pradesh.

Congress said the session has been wasted so far as the Modi government refused to take up the three national issues immediately in the winter session of Parliament. Meanwhile, the Congress Working Committee also discussed the challenges faced by the Congress following the results of the four assembly elections.

Party workers excited about Priyanka Gandhi’s victory

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s resounding victory in the Wayanad by-election has created a wave of enthusiasm among party workers and the public, the Congress Working Committee said. The Congress Working Committee thanked the people of Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir for giving a decisive mandate to the Indian Union parties.

The working committee said the people of Jharkhand completely reject the dangerous divisive and toxic polarization campaign of the BJP. The party will continue to press for restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.

The Congress Working Committee also admitted that the party’s performance in Haryana exceeded everyone’s expectations. The proposal said Congress should form the government in the state with a huge majority, but that did not happen. The impact of election irregularities on the outcome cannot be ignored. The Maharashtra election results went beyond common understanding and were clearly targeted manipulation. The working committee expressed hope that the Congress president would soon complete a detailed state-level review and take necessary action.

Party leader says – workers don’t need to be disappointed

The National People’s Congress Working Committee assured the Party Working Committee that there is no need to be disappointed or panic. We must move forward with renewed determination. The issues raised by the party to the people during the Indian General Elections, Indian General Elections and Lok Sabha elections are issues of daily concern to the people of our country. These will be handled more robustly.

The Congress Working Committee has also decided to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi as Congress President in Belgaum in December this year. 100 years ago, Mahatma Gandhi took over as President of the Indian National Congress at the Belgaum Conference on December 26, 1924. The Assembly Working Committee will hold an extended meeting in Belgaum on December 26 and 27, after which a public meeting will also be held.

Congress Organization Secretary KC Venugopal, Communications Department Secretary Jairam Ramesh and Media Publicity Department Chairman Pawan Kheda introduced the resolutions adopted by the Congress Working Committee.
