Bengaluru, Oct 18 (IANS) Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswami has objected to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) foot march in Chittapur being denied permission and removal of banners and banners despite charging a fee of around Rs 6,000 for putting them up.

He termed it as arbitrariness of the local administration and misconduct of Minister Priyank Kharge.

Chittapur assembly constituency is represented by RDPR, IT and BT minister Priyank Kharge.

Speaking to the media at Jagannath Bhawan, BJP state office in Bengaluru, he answered questions on the issue. On the suspension of the PDO in connection with the RSS march, he said, “RSS is not a political party; it is an organization like any other public association. Anyone can participate in it. There is also a direction from the central government.”

Taking aim at minister Priyank Kharge and Congress MLC BK Hariprasad, he said, “There is a unit for nomadic communities in the AICC and Hampi University professor Dr AS Prabhakar from Karnataka has been appointed its national convenor. You have appointed him as an office-bearer in the AICC. Is this illegal? Or is it wrong to be part of a social organisation?”

He demanded that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge answer on this.

He further criticized, saying, “In Congress you can appoint anyone to work, but why should working in organizations be considered wrong? They are raising the issue of RSS to hide the accidents happening in the state. I am only answering because a question was asked on RSS. RSS is an organization that works for the country; it is a gathering of patriots.”

Narayanaswamy asked, “Priyanka Kharge, a girl from Kalaburagi, was raped in Mysore. Are you not the minister of Kalaburagi? Did you go there and ask what happened? Do you have compassion for those nomadic and poor people? In Bijapur, a 9-year-old girl was raped and murdered – are you worried about that? In your own hometown, the roof of a school in Wadi collapsed. On holiday. It was because of this that the children were saved. Did you take any action on that?

A librarian in your area committed suicide because he did not receive his salary. Were you worried about that? In your own department, Jalsahiyas (Nirganti) have not received their salaries for 23 months. To hide such issues and avoid being called incompetent, you keep shouting ‘RSS, RSS’.

He alleged, “Why are you in the ministerial post? You have failed to perform your duties as a minister. You are misleading people and playing with their lives. No compensation has been given for floods and droughts; contractors have not been paid; they say you are demanding 80 per cent commission. Without addressing such issues, you keep focusing on small matters. You are unfit to rule.” Are. Priyank Kharge is arrogant and irresponsible. He can’t remain silent forever.” Looking for conflict,” he alleged.

“You (Priyank Kharge) yourself come from the Dalit community. You know what is the position of Dalits in this society. Has Priyank Kharge ever worked in even a single Dalit organisation?” Narayanaswamy asked.
