Hubli (Karnataka), Nov 14 (IANS) Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on Friday criticized the Congress and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for the massive defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections and said the grand old party is collapsing across the country and is proving to be a burden even to its own Indian faction allies.
Union Minister Joshi said, “The Congress party is a sinking boat. Rahul Gandhi is also taking his allies with him.”
Speaking to the media in Hubli, the Union Minister said that Congress is collapsing in the entire country under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.
The people of Bihar have not accepted Rahul Gandhi’s strategy of making baseless ‘vote theft’ allegations, he remarked.
Union Minister Joshi sarcastically said, “In Bihar, Congress is struggling even to reach single digit results. Rahul Gandhi is also destroying the existence of his allies. Rahul Gandhi always talked about nuclear and hydrogen bombs. Now, he has burst all those bombs on his own party and its allies.”
He also said that Rahul Gandhi has tried to create doubt on a constitutional institution and the democratic system of the country.
Union Minister Joshi said, “By making baseless allegations like vote theft and EVM malfunction, he (Rahul Gandhi) tried to mislead the voters – and he has got the results for doing so.”
He said that the people of Bihar have completely rejected all the allegations of Congress and the Grand Alliance.
“This is a befitting reply to their (Congress’s) allegations of vote theft. Rahul Gandhi should at least now learn to respect the voters, the Constitution and the constitutional institutions,” he urged.
He said that the NDA alliance has achieved a historic victory in Bihar.
Union Minister Joshi said, “The voters have given this mandate to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. I thank the people of Bihar for this.”
“Bihar chose progress. Bihar chose NDA. The people of Bihar have delivered a verdict full of conviction… a historic, unmatched mandate that celebrates development, dignity and stability,” Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Railways V. Somanna said while addressing the gathering.
“They have once again placed their strong faith in our humble and dynamic Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, whose visionary leadership inspires confidence in every corner of the country. Under his guidance, the NDA has transformed promises into progress and development into daily reality, a journey that will now continue with even greater momentum. Congratulations to the people of Bihar!” Union Minister Somanna said.
Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Labor and Employment Shobha Karandlaje participated in a celebration program organized at the Mangaluru district BJP office in Karnataka on Friday.
He described the NDA’s victory in Bihar as “historic and unprecedented”.
He distributed sweets and shared happy moments with BJP workers.
