Jaipur, October 7 (IANS) Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed confidence that the Congress would win the upcoming ANTA assembly by -election, claiming that the party’s ticket would be decided soon, the party in -charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhwa to reach the candidate soon.
Gehlot also noted that Pramod Jain was the previous candidate, but a new decision is pending on the nominee.
Speaking to the media on the Tonk Bypass N Marg for Kota for the funeral of former minister Bharat Singh, Gehlot said, “We will win the election. The ticket will be decided soon. The party will be decided soon. The party in -charge, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, is coming soon, and the decision will be made in one or two.”
He also said that Pramod Jain was the previous candidate, but a new decision is pending.
Gehlot clarified that he does not oppose any personal opposition for the current Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, but insisted that the government should work in public interest.
“The government should ensure good governance as there will be public benefits only. They have five years to rule, and they should use that time to serve the people,” he said.
Recently, touching the fire tragedy of SMS Hospital, Gehlot criticized the state government’s investigation.
He said, “Nothing will be achieved by creating a 5 to 7-member committee to make the incident white. A Judicial Commission should be formed so that they can fully examine the reasons and ensure that such accidents could not be resumed,” he said.
In a sharp criticism of the current administration, Gehlot said that corruption has become fierce and uncontrolled in the state.
He said, “Wherever you go, any work is being paid without money. The public does not know who to contact. A lot of views have disappeared. Corruption has disappeared. Corruption is out of control, and it hurts me deeply,” he said.
