Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday hit out at the Congress and said the party believes that only members of one family have the right to the Bharat Ratna.

PM Modi was addressing a gathering here at the bhoomi pujan ceremony for nearly 14,000 projects worth more than Rs 10 lakh crore across the state.

“Just a few days ago, our government had the privilege of honoring the farmers’ messiah Chaudhary Charan Singh with the Bharat Ratna. Honoring Lal Chaudhary Saheb of the land of Uttar Pradesh is an honor for crores of farmers and laborers of the state.” Country. The PM said that Congress did not give Bharat Ratna even to Baba Saheb Ambedkar for decades, because he kept giving it to his family members.

BR Ambedkar was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, the country’s highest civilian award, in 1990.

PM Modi said, “Congress does not want to respect the poor, Dalits, backward classes, farmers and laborers because in their thinking they do not exist.”

The PM said that even during the lifetime of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, Congress had tried hard to bargain with him.

He said, “Chaudhary Saheb left the post of PM but did not compromise on his principles.” He said that it is sad that the parties doing politics in his name in Uttar Pradesh do not follow his principles.

The PM said that the country can never forget what Choudhary Saheb did for small farmers. “Today, taking inspiration from Chaudhary Saheb, we are continuously empowering the farmers of the country.”
