Congress announces key appointments in Adivasi, North Eastern Tribal Councils

New Delhi, Nov 3 (IANS) The Congress on Monday announced a comprehensive list of appointments to the Advisory Council, Special Invitee Members and Tribal Advisory Council for North-Eastern States under the All India Tribal Congress (AIAC), with an aim to expand the party’s tribal reach and strengthen its organizational structure across the country.

MLA and All India Adivasi Congress President Vikrant Bhuria issued an official notice saying the appointments have been approved by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

The letter issued from the party headquarters in the national capital lists prominent tribal leaders, MLAs and senior functionaries representing various states.

In the circular, Bhuria said: “Hon’ble Congress President has approved the appointment of special invitees to the Advisory Council of the All India Tribal Congress and members of the Tribal Advisory Council for the North-Eastern States.”

He extended his best wishes to all the newly appointed members and emphasized that this move is part of Congress’s continuing efforts to ensure representation and empowerment of India’s tribal communities.

The Tribal Congress Advisory Council includes senior leaders from several states.

Members from Chhattisgarh include Deepak Baij, Phoolodevi Netam, Mohan Markam, Kawasi Lakhma, Premsai Singh Tekam, Amarjeet Bhagat, Khelsai Singh and Rampukar Singh Thakur.

Gujarat is represented by Tushar Chaudhary and Sukhram Rathwa, while Jharkhand is represented by Rameshwar Oraon, Sukhdev Bhagat, Pradeep K. Balmuchu, Kalicharan Munda, Shilpi Neha Tirkey and Rajesh Kachhap are doing it.

From Karnataka, the members are Satish Jarkiholi, NY Gopalakrishna, and Kyathasandra N. Rajanna.

Kerala is represented by IC Balakrishnan and PK Jayalakshmi, while Ladakh and Lakshadweep are represented by Nawang Rigzin Jora and Muhammad Hamdullah Sayeed respectively.

Madhya Pradesh has Umang Singhar, Omkar Singh Markam, Bala Bachchan, and Dr Vikrant Bhuria.

The list also includes senior leaders from Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Telangana and Uttarakhand.

Special invitee members of the Advisory Council include many sitting and former MLAs.

From Madhya Pradesh, the list includes Kantilal Bhuria, Pratap Grewal, Sanjay Uike, Narayan Singh Patta, Phundelal Singh Marco and Surendra Singh Baghel.

Leaders from Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana and Uttarakhand have also been nominated.

Additionally, the Tribal Advisory Council for the North-Eastern States has been reconstituted with influential leaders from the region. From Arunachal Pradesh, the council includes Kumar Y, Nabam Tuki and Takam Sanjay.

Party sources said the expanded framework is expected to increase coordination among tribal representatives in states and support the policy and advocacy work of the Congress related to tribal welfare, rights and development.

Bhuria’s message has been circulated to the Congress President, CWC members, AICC office-bearers, PCC presidents and heads of party departments and frontals, marking an important organizational step in the party’s tribal engagement agenda.
