New Delhi, Oct 21 (IANS) The All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Tuesday unveiled a significant leadership revamp, with the Congress President approving the appointment of 45 national coordinators for the Scheduled Caste (SC) department, effective immediately.
The announcement, detailed in a press release by general secretary KC Venugopal, MP, signals a bold strategy to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence and inclusivity ahead of major political challenges.
The newly appointed coordinators represent a diverse cross-section of the party, a mix of experienced leaders with emerging talent.
Notable personalities include dynamic youth leaders like Rajkumar Verka, SP Singh, Chandrasen B Rao and advocate Meghna Sehra as well as Pramod Jayant and Tina Chaudhary.
The list includes geographical diversity, including representatives like Sukhwinder Singh Kotli from Punjab and N Pritam from the South, demonstrating a nationwide reach.
The team also includes legal stalwarts like lawyers. Rahul Raj and lawyer CV Santha Kumar, along with social activists like Daksin Bajrange Chhara and Ajay Paswan, reflect a mix of professional and community-driven expertise.
The inclusion of women leaders like Reena Valmiki, Harshita Gandhi and Ashwini Khobragade highlights the party’s emphasis on gender equality in its ranks.
As announced today, the Congress President has approved the appointment of key leaders for the Unorganized Workers and Employees Congress (KKC) with immediate effect.
The new appointments include Vice Presidents Ramesh Kumar Yadav and Nawab Shaikh Ibrahim, Secretary Shahid Ali and Regional Coordinator Dr Anshu J Anthony.
The state presidents appointed are Thodam John Singh for Manipur and Chilambarasan for Puducherry.
The move, aimed at strengthening the party’s reach to unorganized workers, reflects its strategic focus on regional representation.
These appointments signal a new effort to address the concerns of this important workforce segment ahead of future political engagements.
