Delhi Capitals kept their IPL 2024 playoff dream alive with a crucial win over Rajasthan Royals, but the win was not without a little controversy. Sanju Samson was looking in great form but he was out on 86 and Shai Hope’s catch ended his innings, sparking a huge debate among both fans and experts. Replays showed that Hope was very close to the boundary line when the catch was completed but the third umpire ruled in favor of DC. This resulted in an argument between the on-field umpires and Samson and DC owner Parth Jindal’s reaction to the incident also went viral.

Parth Jindal himself reacted to the video and also shared his passionate reaction.

DC posted a total above 200 with the help of half-centuries from Abhishek Porel and Jake Fraser-McGurk and a disciplined bowling attack ensured that RR remained well behind the target.

“I think it was in our hands, it was like 11-12 runs per over, it was achievable, but these things happen in the IPL. Yes, we are doing both things right, we are depending on the conditions. Would like to hang on, had 10 runs extra to chase 220, if we had given a few fewer boundaries, we would have achieved it.”

“DC’s opener (Fraser McGurk) came in and did what he’s done throughout the tournament, yet we came back well. We’ve lost three games but all those games have been really tight, we’re playing remarkably well. We have to do some fine tuning and come back, we have to keep the momentum going.”

“Yes and no actually, you have to give credit to someone like Stubbs who batted well against Sandeep, who has been bowling very well in the last 10-11 matches, he hit 2-3 extra sixes against my best bowlers Which is Yuzi Chahal and Sandeep Sharma. We have lost the game, we have to find out where we have lost the game and we have to keep moving forward,” Samson said after the match.
