New Delhi, October 9 (IANS) Reaffirming Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unwavering commitment to achieve the goal of a terrorism-free Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said security forces will have complete freedom to crush any attempt to threaten peace in the region.

Chairing a meeting in New Delhi to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, HM Shah said that due to determined efforts of the security agencies, the terrorist networks nurtured in the state by the enemies of the country have been paralysed.

HM Shah also assured that all necessary resources will continue to be made available to sustain these efforts.

He said that our security forces will continue to have complete freedom of action to crush any attempt to threaten peace and security in the region.

HM Shah appreciated the steps taken by the Union Territory administration and security agencies following the Pahalgam terror attack, which have helped in strengthening the overall security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir.

He stressed the important role of all security agencies in working in a coordinated and alert manner to eliminate terrorism from the region.

He said that with the onset of winter, security forces should be fully prepared to ensure that terrorists do not take advantage of snowfall for infiltration across the border.

HM Shah said that the complete end of terrorism will depend on the vital role of all security agencies working in close coordination and maintaining utmost vigilance to completely eliminate terrorism from the region.
