CM Yogi visits Lucknow shops, assurances the ‘biggest GST profit’ to UP traders and consumers.

Lucknow, 24 September (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath visited the city’s chief Hazratganj market on Wednesday, met shopkeepers and traders and demanded his “full heart” support for the next generation GST reforms, recently unreserved by the Modi government.

The Chief Minister interacted with shopkeepers and customers and also distributed pamphlets and banners related to GST reforms.

He urged them to pass customers on full benefits of low GST rates and asked them to prioritize Swadeshi on foreign-made products, which has been done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build ‘Antrifik Bharat’.

The Chief Minister visited Universal Booksellers in Hazratganj Market and later addressed the media, where he said low GST rates are benefiting all the blocks including consumers, traders and entrepreneurs.

He said that as Uttar Pradesh is the largest consumer state, its traders and consumers will benefit the most from GST improvement.

The Chief Minister said that GST has been reduced to zero on notebooks, pencils and other educational materials for students. Similarly, most essential domestic goods have been brought under zero or 5 percent tax bracket. 33 life saving medicines are also completely exempted from GST.

He said that increased consumption in the market has increased production. It has benefited both traders and entrepreneurs and has opened new employment opportunities for the youth.

CM Yogi further said that since GST implementation, the national collection has increased from Rs 7 lakh crore to Rs 22 lakh crore, while in Uttar Pradesh, it has increased from Rs 49,000 crore to more than Rs 1.15 lakh crore.

A day earlier, CM Yogi visited malls, shops and markets in Gorakhpur and demanded support from traders and traders for GST reforms.

Starting the campaign from Jhulelal Temple to Gorakhnath Temple Road with March 1, the Chief Minister stopped at several shops to interact with traders and customers.

He also pasted “awareness stickers” in a mall and distributed handbills highlighting the benefits of low GST rates.
