Lucknow, Oct 21 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday flagged off a consignment of 1,000 quintals of wheat seeds for flood-hit Punjab to ensure that there is no huge decline in food grain production in the state due to the natural disaster.
Speaking at an event in the state capital, he said, “In this time of crisis, we stand with the farmers of Punjab. With this commitment, the Uttar Pradesh government, through the Agriculture Department and Uttar Pradesh Seed Development Corporation, is sending 2,500 bags equivalent to 1,000 quintals of wheat seeds to Punjab.”
He said that due to heavy rains in Punjab this year, all aspects of public life were badly affected. Expressing solidarity with flood-hit farmers in Punjab, he said, “Even the seeds kept there were damaged by the floods. There are fears that this may affect agriculture in the region and the yield of hardworking farmers may be affected.”
In a post on Twitter, CM Adityanath said, “Participated in an event organized by the Uttar Pradesh government today in Lucknow to flag off vehicles for seed assistance to the flood affected farmers of Punjab. In the adverse situation arising out of excessive rainfall and floods, the Uttar Pradesh government stands in solidarity with the farmer brothers of Punjab.”
Earlier, while addressing a gathering on the occasion of Police Remembrance Day, the Chief Minister cautioned citizens to avoid cyber crimes.
CM Adityanath said, “In the present environment, the digital revolution has made our lives easier, while challenges like cyber crime have also emerged before us. The police force has taken concrete steps for effective action against cyber crime.”
Reiterating the BJP-led state government’s commitment to protect citizens from cyber fraudsters, CM Adityanath said, “The 1930 helpline center against cyber crime has been upgraded to handle 1.60 lakh calls per month and equipped with hi-tech analytics.”
The Chief Minister said that a cyber fraud mitigation center has also been planned to strengthen the fight against fraudsters.
CM Adityanath said that cyber crime-related money deposited or saved in the banking sector has increased from Rs 26.70 crore in July 2025 to Rs 39.40 crore in September 2025.
“Vigilant police station level cyber crime teams have saved Rs 10 crore of public money between June 1 and August 15, 2025,” he said.
He also highlighted the efforts of the UP government to detect social media posts related to suicide attempts and work with private companies to save precious lives.
CM Adityanath said, “Due to the proactive action of the UP government, with the help of private companies, 1,460 lives have been saved by taking action on social media posts related to suicide between January 1, 2023, and October 10, 2025.”
During the program, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the brave martyrs of Uttar Pradesh Police Force who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
He also assured the families of the martyred policemen that the government is committed to taking every necessary step with full sensitivity for their welfare and facilities, it said in a statement on social media.
