Lucknow, October 9 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday attended the closing ceremony of the 36th Regional Sports Competition organized by Vidya Bharti East Uttar Pradesh in Jhansi and gave the mantra of self-reliance and success to the players.
In the program, CM Yogi honored excellent players and also announced the construction of a mini stadium at Bhani Devi Goyal Saraswati Vidya Mandir Inter College.
Underlining the importance of good health in nation building, the Chief Minister said that sports is no longer a hobby but has become a powerful medium to enhance life experiences.
Addressing the function, UP CM said, ‘It is a privilege to participate in the 36th regional sports competition of Vidya Bharti on the land of bravery and valor of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi.’
It is noteworthy that Vidya Bharti, established in Gorakhpur by Nanaji Deshmukh, is a leading organization promoting values through more than 25,000 educational and training centers across the country.
While honoring Devendra Singh, the first student of Vidya Bharati, the Chief Minister said that the organization has been successful in keeping the national ideals alive.
He honored several players and sportspersons for their outstanding achievements in sports and appreciated the efforts of Vidya Bharti for making significant contributions.
Referring to the achievements of Vidya Bharti, CM Yogi said that today this organization has become a leading force in strengthening the tradition and culture of India.
The Chief Minister praised the players of Vidya Bharti for making the country proud at the national and international level.
He said that Vidya Bharti players have brought glory to the country by winning medals in Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, Olympics and Paralympics. Athletes like Olympian Padmashree Sudha Singh, Olympian Nishad Kumar, Shaili Singh and Aadesh Singh have emerged from this institute.
“Before 2017, Uttar Pradesh was an ailing state, but in the last 8.5 years, it has become the second largest economy in the country and will soon become number one,” he told the gathering.
CM Yogi emphasized that unlike before, today the citizens of Uttar Pradesh do not face identity crisis and are viewed with respect and honor.
