Lucknow, Nov 3 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday reviewed the law and order situation and preparedness in the state for the upcoming festivals through a video conference with senior officials of all the districts.
Senior administrative and police officers, Divisional Commissioner, District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police were present in the meeting.
The Chief Minister directed officials to maintain strict vigil and ensure peaceful conduct of all religious and public programs in the coming weeks.
Emphasizing the importance of coordination between departments, CM Adityanath said that the festive season requires extra vigilance from the administration and police at every level. He directed that all arrangements for crowd management, traffic regulation and security deployment should be completed in advance.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the law and order situation in sensitive districts and asked the officers to intensify patrolling.
CM Adityanath directed officials to maintain constant dialogue with peace committees, religious leaders and community representatives to strengthen harmony and prevent the spread of rumors or misinformation. He asked the administration to make effective use of public address systems and social media monitoring to counter false narratives.
Highlighting the role of cleanliness and public health during festivals, the Chief Minister directed urban local bodies and rural panchayats to ensure proper cleanliness, lighting and water supply near the event venues. He also reviewed emergency response preparedness and directed officials to keep disaster management teams and fire services on alert.
CM Adityanath said strict action should be taken against people indulging in sale or use of illegal firecrackers and directed officials to effectively enforce pollution control norms. He reiterated that law and order and public safety are top priorities for the government.
The Chief Minister concluded the meeting by urging the district officials to work in close coordination with each other and ensure that the spirit of festivals is celebrated with peace, safety and discipline across the State.
