Ujjain, Oct 10 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday said compensation for farmers whose crops have been affected by natural disasters is being distributed on the basis of reports received from district collectors.

He said that individual survey of each farm is being conducted.

He announced that soybean farmers will also benefit from the state government’s Bhavantar Yojana (price difference payment scheme), which will cover the difference from the maximum support price (MSP).

He said that the BJP government is committed to fulfilling the commitment made to the people of the state.

CM Yadav said, “We (BJP government) stand with the farmers in every situation and all possible assistance will be provided to the disaster affected farmers.”

The Chief Minister said this during a program in Unhel town of Ujjain, during which he laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development works worth Rs 133.80 crore, which also includes the construction of a 23 km long two-lane road from Ingoria to Unhel at a cost of Rs 127.63 crore.

He said, “Farmers are getting the PM Samman Nidhi scheme. Under the Gopalan Gaushala scheme, a subsidy of up to Rs 10 lakh will be provided on a project of Rs 40 lakh to keep 25 indigenous cows. Govardhan Puja will be celebrated with great enthusiasm across the state.”

“Lay of foundation stone of New Nagar Parishad (Municipal Council) office building at a cost of Rs 1.26 crore, construction of Chiri to Rawadia road at a cost of Rs 2.17 crore, inauguration of electricity substation at Karnavad at a cost of Rs 2.74 crore.”
