This comes days after Shivakumar visited the chief minister’s residence for a similar breakfast meeting.
After the initial meeting held on the instructions of the Congress high command, both the leaders had publicly said that “there will be no confusion.”
On the issue of leadership, Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar said they would obey the high command.
The development is being seen as a move by the high command to prevent a leadership fight between the two, and indicates Siddaramaiah continuing as CM for some time, especially ahead of the Legislature session from December 8.
“As informed by the CM on Saturday, he is scheduled to visit Shivakumar’s residence for breakfast tomorrow,” official sources said.
The power struggle within the ruling party had intensified amid speculations about change of chief minister in the state after the Congress government reached the halfway point of its five-year term on November 20. These speculations were fueled by the alleged “power-sharing” agreement between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar in 2023.
