Web Desk, 14/07/2025

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday offered prayers after the security forces jumped on the border wall of Mazar-e-Shauhada at Naqashband Sahib in Srinagar.

The martyrs were sealed by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and a day after a day of limiting the top political leaders including Abdullah, including Abdullah, came into a development. To mark the anniversary of protesters sought by Dogra Forces of Maharaja Hari Singh on July 13, 1931, preventing them from visiting the martyrs from visiting the cemeteries (Mazar-e-Shuhada).

Abdullah said that he had not informed anyone before going to Majar-e-Shuhada as he was arrested yesterday on the day of Kashmir martyrs.

“Payed my honor and offered Fatiha on the graves of the martyrs of 13 July 1931. The undeclared government tried to block my way to force me to walk from Nawahta Chowk. They blocked the gate to the Nukeshband SB Shine, which tried to force me to a wall.

The cemetery is connected to the temple of Khwaja Bahauddin Unshabandi.

Earlier today, the Chief Minister expressed pain on the issue of “the entire elected government being closed” over the lack of media coverage in local newspapers.

“From Jammu and Srinagar, English and Vernacular – take a look at our local newspapers. You will be able to separate the cowards with courage. Cowers have completely buried the fact that the entire elected government was closed with the most elected representatives yesterday.

Some courageous newspapers have placed it on the front page. It is a matter of shame on the sale that buried the story, I hope the size of the envelope was worth it, ”Abdullah posted on X.

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) chief spokesperson and Zadibal MLA Tanveer Sadiq also alleged that the elected representatives in the central region were detained inside their homes to prevent the martyrs from paying tribute.

“Since last night, I like many of my colleagues, including the party leadership in Gupta, the Chief Minister’s advisor, and the sitting MLAs have been locked inside my house. It is not only unfortunate. It is not only unfortunate. It has a deliberate right to do a deliberate to remember nor the right to accept an act. For history,” Sadiq posted on X.

After the martyrs did not allow the cemetery to visit, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehboba Mufti said that the “heart door (hearts)” between Kashmir and the rest of India will end when the Center accepts the heroes of Kashmir as their own, as Kashmir has adopted the national figure.

The PDP chief wrote on X, “The day you accept our heroes as their own, such as Kashmiris from Mahatma Gandhi to Bhagat, as Prime Minister Modi said,” Dil Ki Darwaza “(distance of heart) will actually end.

“When you siege the martyrs’ cemetery, they close people in their homes to prevent them from going to Mazar-e-Shauda, this volume speaks. 13 July remembers our martyrs, people who get up against torture, who are like countless others across the country. They will always be our heroes,” they said.

Martyr’s Day in Kashmir which was previously celebrated as an official holiday in the state, was closed in 2019 after the cancellation of Article 370. (ANI)
