Srinagar, July 5: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today paid tribute to the revered martyrs of Imam Hussain (AS) and Karbala, describing their unique sacrifice, which was in front of tests as a timeless beakon of courage, perseverance and resistance.
In his message on the occasion of Ashura, the Chief Minister said that the tragedy of Karbala is not just a historical event, but a moral lesson for all humanity. He said that the dear grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Imam Hussain (AS), retained the highest principles of truth, dignity and justice, selecting martyrdom on presenting injustice.
The Chief Minister said, “Imam Hussain’s stand in Karbala inspired generations to maintain firmness and human dignity against lies in front of untrue repression.
Omar Abdullah said that the values of sacrifice, patience and truth embodied by Imam Hussain (AS) are particularly relevant, when society faces moral and social challenges.
He urged the people to reflect Karbala’s message and renew their commitment to the principles of justice, equality and peaceful co -existence.
The Chief Minister expressed solidarity with all the people with the sacred memory of Ashura and Karbala and asked the administration to ensure the smooth and peaceful adherence to the incidents related to Muharram in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Minister also prayed for peace, harmony and the good of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
