Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today departed from Sheikh-ul-Alum International Airport, Srinagar, the first batch of 178 Haj pilgrims.
In a heartfelt gesture, the Chief Minister greeted the pilgrims, expecting a safe and spiritually rich journey.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdullah expressed his gratitude to be a part of the farewell and politely requested pilgrims to pray for permanent peace and prosperity in the region.
The departure marks the beginning of the season of this year’s Haj pilgrimage from Jammu and Kashmir, which is expected to follow more batches in the coming days.
