CM Omar Abdullah asks JKSSB for the fast-track recruitment process, reviews the functioning of the board

Srinagar, May 22: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah presided over a high-level meeting today to review the functioning of the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB), emphasizing the need to remove bottlenecks and ensure time-limit and transparent recruitment process.

The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Secretary Atal Dullu, Chief Minister Dheeraj Gupta Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary Finance, Commissioner General Secretary Administration Department, Commissioner Secretary Cooperation Department, Secretary Act, Chairman JKSSB and other senior officials.

Chairperson JKSSB Indu Kanwal Chib presented a comprehensive report on recruitment activities launched since 2019, including department-wise details of the posts posted, which are subject to the examination, and in the final stages of selection.

He highlighted progress along with pending challenges in departments.

It was reported that due to the delay in submitting indent by the departments and in some cases the requirement of recruitment rules to reflect the current job requirements, many positions remain inadvertently.

The board has proposed that all future recruitment examinations will be conducted under CCTV monitoring to ensure fairness and transparency.

The meeting also reviewed the status of class IV recruitment, where the delay was marked as a major concern.

The Chief Minister directed the board to speed up the selection process and address all procedural hurdles.

He also called for improvement in facilities and strengthening the legal and administrative framework of the board at the Service Selection Board.

Emphasizing the government’s commitment to the transparent government, the Chief Minister said that the government will make every effort to ensure the fair and transparent recruitment process and to improve the efficiency in all departments to ensure the fair and transparent recruitment process and to fill the vacant posts, resulting in jobs to the qualified youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
