CM Omar Abdullah announces pre–Gratia relief for Kathua Claudbst victims

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday expressed deep concern over life loss and loss of property due to a cloudburst in Kathua district.

In a post on X, the Chief Minister announced a pre-Gratia assistance from the CM’s Relief Fund, in addition to the support of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). The relief package includes ₹ 2 lakh for the next relatives of each deceased, ₹ 1 lakh for seriously injured people and ₹ 50,000 for people with minor injuries. For damaged houses, the government has introduced ₹ 25,000 for the government to be completely damaged and 1 lakh, to be severely damaged and partially damaged houses.

Abdullah said that the aim is to provide immediate relief to the victims and support the affected families in the reconstruction of their lives. He also directed the administration to ensure timely delivery and expand all possible help to those affected by natural disaster.
