Patna, October 3 (IANS) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday transferred Rs 10,000 to each of the beneficiaries of 25 lakh women under the Mukhiyamanti Mahaila Roger Yojana.
The CM’s official residence, 1 Anne Marg, was transferred through direct benefits transfer (DBT) during a program, where he interacted with the beneficiaries through video conferencing.
With this latest installment, a total of one crore women in Bihar have benefited under the scheme.
The scheme, declared on August 29, was implemented within a month.
Earlier, on 26 September, Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally launched the scheme and transferred the first installment to 75 lakh women.
“The remaining beneficiaries will get funds on October 6 under this scheme. The Bihar government will provide up to Rs 2 lakh for additional assistance to those whose business runs successfully. With this subtle investment, families will benefit greatly in the scheme,” Nitish Kumar said while addressing the participants.
Highlighting the initiative of women empowerment under its government, Kumar said, “Since the formation of the NDA government in Bihar in 2005, we have worked for the upliftment of women. In 2006, we gave 50 percent reservation to women in Panchayati Raj Institutions. State.”
Keeping in mind the purpose of the opposition, Kumar commented, “The previous RJD government had done nothing for Bihar, especially for women. You can now see the difference. This is the NDA government that has implemented welfare schemes for women, with strong support from the center, ensuring the rapid development of Bihar.”
The Chief Minister also said that if the NDA returns to power in the upcoming assembly elections, Bihar will move forward.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Cabinet Minister Srivan Kumar and senior bureaucrats participated in the event.
