Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today addressed the Mega Job Fair -2025 on Mega Job Fair -2025 on Mega Job Fair -2025, which is cooperating with the cooperation of Mahila Gandhi Nagar Jammu for Deshm Shri Padma Sachdev government.

In his address, the Lieutenant Governor appreciated the important initiative by Cluster University Jammu and Desh Bhagat University Punjab, which provides employment opportunities to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to bring together a wide range of reputed national companies.

He also increased his intensity to the companies participating in the Mega Job Fair and greeted the selected candidates.

“The purpose of the Job Fair of Cluster University is to bridge the gap between education and employment. It will provide an opportunity to our younger generation to demonstrate their skills and empower them to start their careers so that they can effectively contribute to the creation of Vikas Jammu and Kashmir India,” said the lieutenant governor.

In his address, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the reforms directed by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, which is shaping the education scenario to align with the needs of industries and to create strong employment avenues for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Lieutenant Governor said, “It has been our top priority to improve the employment of youth through employment generation, self-employment and educational changes through entrepreneurship. Our efforts to attract industries in Jammu and Kashmir since 2021 have helped young job seekers to connect young job seekers directly with employers.”

He observed that the presence of local private companies in today’s job fair serves as a will for the industrialization of trade and commercial activities in UT of Jammu and Kashmir and the important progresses in the expansion of trade and business activities.

The Lieutenant Governor said, “The operation of new industries is offering a better performance to the youth about diverse roles and positions in their skills and experiences. The huge response from the private sector to recruit youth from Jammu and Kashmir is a positive indicator for our economy.”

The Lieutenant Governor also spoke on the progressive industrial policy and several major intervention, which have attracted private investment in J&K UT over the years.

He said that industries had taken advantage of an incentive of Rs 28,400 crore under the new industrial development scheme in only two and a half years.

“Investment schemes worth Rs 25,000 crore are currently in various stages of implementation. Projects worth Rs 10,000 crore have been completed and started production. The remaining Rs 15,000 crore projects, currently in various stages, will start this year.

Nearly, proposals worth Rs 60,000 crore are pending. The Lieutenant Governor said that they have stayed for some reasons, and I hope to take a decision on them in the near future.

The Lieutenant Governor also blamed the encroachment of employment in J&K and the exponential growth registered in the entrepreneurship sector for the dedicated efforts of all stakeholders.

He highlighted his important role in successfully implementing schemes and programs such as the PM’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP), Rural Employment Generation Program (REGP), Adhusla, Tejaswini, Mumkin and Mission Youth, as well as other initiatives focused on youth empowerment and livelihood generations.

Talking to the representatives of the participating companies, the Lieutenant Governor said that efforts are being made to provide employment opportunities to the youth. He said that the new industrial policy has emphasized employment to local youth on priority.

Atomic North Private Limited has established a BPO in a village in Kathua, providing employment to about 375 youth. The company has the capacity to provide employment to 1000 youth. I have urged him to start a BPO in Udhampur. The JSW group is also bringing a BPO in Jammu, he further said.

The Lieutenant Governor distributed job offer to selected candidates. He also assigned approval from AICTE to Cluster University for BBA BCA courses.

Mega Job Fair 2025 is an important step towards empowering youth and increasing employment opportunities for youth. 57 prestigious companies across the country participated and 3759 candidates were registered for the job fair.

Prof. KS Chandrashekar, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University in Jammu; Dr. Sandeep Singh, President, Desh Bhagat University, Punjab; Dr. Gitanjali Andotra, Principal GCW Gandhi Nagar, heads of various departments and educational institutions, representatives of various reputed companies, youth and people from different fields of life were present.
