Timberwolves coach Chris Finch is generally known for his calm, cool and collected demeanor. But his voice cracked noticeably as he paid tribute to Pretty, who was killed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents.

“I’m more than just a resident. This is my home. I love living here. I love being part of this community. I’ve been embraced from day one. The people have been great. It’s sad to see what happened,” said Finch, who joined his staff five years ago. “On a human level, certainly as someone who’s very proud to be here, I know a lot of our players feel the same way.

“They all love being here, it’s just hard to see what we’re going through.”

At the same time, Warriors coach Steve Kerr was also moved and paid tribute to Pretty.

“This has always been a stop on the NBA tour. I love the city of Minneapolis. The people here are great, but it’s very sad what happened,” he said. “I feel for the city. There’s a pall hanging over the city. You can feel it. A lot of people are suffering and obviously the loss of life is the most important issue. These families will never get their family members back.”

Last night, Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski lashed out at the Trump administration, becoming one of the few in her party to break ranks and condemn the killing of Alex Pretti.

In a shocking statement, the Alaska congresswoman said ICE does not have “the full authority to carry out its responsibilities.” postal.
