Eubank Jr’s victory in April came after a dramatic turn of events which resulted in him missing weight by 0.05 pounds the day before and so he was contractually fined £375,000.
That money went straight to Benn, who subsequently bought a Rolls-Royce, and yet the weight accepted by Eubank Jr. and the controversial rehydration clause were the subject of controversy before the first fight.
Eubank senior was so angry at the terms his son had to abide by that he refused to attend, before a remarkable U-turn appeared, with one of the images from the bout showing father and son arriving together at Tottenham to huge fanfare.
While Eubank Jr’s victory made the score 2-0 in the three battles between the families, Ben was keen to remind his opponent that he walked away with a prize when they gathered at the top of a London skyscraper on Monday.
Ben said on Monday, “I’m hoping you’ll lose weight again, just a little bit. Just a pound. Just a little bit. That’ll be nice. It was a nice little gift from you last time.” “I hope you’ll be okay. Do you have 10 toes? Ten nails?”
Ben, who is a father himself, insisted there was no chance of his sons sharing a ring in the future.
Speaking at the Peligon in Canary Wharf, Ben insisted: “First of all, it ends here.
“The rivalry ends here. This is it.”
“The Ben-Eubank chapter is complete. That’s it, it’s over.”
